Registration for UbuntuNet-Connect 2024 Set to Open on 3rd June 2024

UbuntuNet Alliance is thrilled to announce that registration for the 17th annual UbuntuNet-Connect conference will open on June 3, 2024. This year’s conference, themed “Maximizing Technological Advancements in Research and Education,” promises to be a landmark event filled with rich discussions on network connectivity, cybersecurity, open science, AI, and more.

The conference will be held at the White Sands Resort and Conference Center, located on a serene private beach just 25 kilometers north of Dar es Salaam and Julius Nyerere International Airport. Situated on Mbezi Beach, known for its long, white sandy stretches, White Sands provides the perfect backdrop for our community gathering. We encourage attendees to visit the resort’s website and book accommodations early to secure a spot at this beautiful venue.

As we count down to the conference date on October 31, 2024, the online registration portal will officially open on June 3, 2024. Early bird registration will run until August 31, 2024, with fees set at $100 for participants from African institutions and $200 for those from institutions outside of Africa. Following the early bird period, normal registration will take place throughout September, with fees increasing to $150 for African participants and $300 for international participants.

Currently, the call for abstracts and panel session proposals is open until June 30, 2024. UbuntuNet-Connect 2024 offers a unique platform for National Research and Education Network (NREN) practitioners, researchers, librarians, and both public and private sector stakeholders to present and exchange ideas aligned with the conference theme. Thanks to funding from the European Union through the AfricaConnect3 project, the conference will sponsor presenters whose abstracts and proposals are accepted. You can make your submission here.

Attracting over 200 professionals in research and education, UbuntuNet-Connect also provides an excellent opportunity for service providers and organizations to showcase their offerings to key stakeholders across Africa. Through presentations and scheduled meetings, participants can engage in thought leadership and promotional activities. Don’t miss out on this chance to be part of a transformative event in the research and education networking community. Mark your calendars and get ready to register on June 3, 2024!
