Hello DRC, You are now connected

Eb@le, The National Research and Education Network (NREN) of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has become the 11th NREN to be connected to the UbuntuNet Network, the data communications network of UbuntuNet Alliance which interconnects NRENs in Southern and Eastern Africa and to the Internet in Europe.

The 2xSTM-1 Cape Town – Moanda link has now gone fully live, effectively connecting Eb@le to the regional backbone.

The connection comes under the 26.6 Million Euros European Commission Co-funded AfricaConnect2 Project which aims to create a Pan-African Research and Education Network.

Ebale, the DRC NREN has over 10 member institutions from the Capital Kinshasa and other parts of the country and serves hundreds of researchers students and academicians from across the country.
