At least 20 systems engineers from Eastern and Southern Africa participated in the latest NREN Cloud Webinar hosted by UbuntuNet Alliance in partnership with the Research and Education Network of Uganda, RENU.
The webinar on Building an OpenStack Cloud using Ansible was held on Tuesday, 29th September 2020. It was the second in the series of the “Building an NREN Cloud Webinars” which UbuntuNet Alliance is holding since August and will continue running until November.
The recent webinar was facilitated by RENU’s Systems Engineer, Derrick Ssemanda and took participants through planning and deployment of OpenStack using Ansible. With Covid-19 restrictions, the demand for cloud services in NRENs has risen as universities are seeking continue teaching and learning activities online.
The first webinar on Planning and Design Considerations for an NREN was held on 25th August 2020.
