ZAMREN Gears up for ZAMREN Week 2024 and Annual General Meeting.

Zambia Research and Education Network (ZAMREN) is all set to hold their 2024 ZAMREN Week and Annual General Meeting, this is ZAMREN’s premier event of the year where academia, technology, and innovation converge! This 2024 ZAMREN Week is a unique opportunity for leaders in education, research, and technology to explore the future of learning management systems and digital platforms. This event promises insightful discussions, hands-on sessions, and unparalleled networking opportunities.

A star-studded lineup of presenters will deliver keynote presentations, ensuring the event is both enlightening and impactful. Among these esteemed speakers is Prof. Madara Ogot, CEO of the UbuntuNet Alliance, who will deliver the Keynote address on learning management systems. His presence signifies the strong relationship that UbuntuNet Alliance maintains with its member NRENs. Alongside him, Prof. Douglas Kunda, Vice Chancellor of ZCAS University, will speak on contemporary issues in learning management systems. Prof. Pardon Mwansa, will be focusing on the use of digital learning with a case study of St. Andrew University-USA.

ZAMREN Week will also feature a training session on Open Science and Open Data, where librarians will learn how to create and manage institutional repositories. This hands-on workshop aims to equip participants with the skills needed to advance open science initiatives in their institutions. ICT Directors and Managers are equally not left out as they will be equipped with knowledge in the Management of campuses and explore developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

ZAMREN week will take place from 5th to 9th August 2024 at the Avani Victoria Falls Resort, providing a stunning backdrop for this gathering of minds. The 2024 ZAMREN Week will be closed off with an Awards Gala Dinner to celebrate and award the most reliable member institutions for the year 2023.
