UbuntuNet Alliance has officially opened normal registration for UbuntuNet-Connect 2026 following the closure of the early bird registration period on 31 August 2026. Early bird registration has now closed, and normal registration is currently open. This marks the final opportunity for participants to secure their place at this year’s conference. Normal registration will run from 1 to 30 September 2026, providing participants with the final window to register for the conference.
UbuntuNet-Connect 2026 will take place on 29–30 October 2026 in Lilongwe, Malawi. Hosted in collaboration with the Malawi Research and Education Network (MAREN), the conference will bring together research and education practitioners, thought leaders, innovators, policymakers and partners from across Africa and beyond.
Shaping Digital Horizons
Held under the theme “Shaping Digital Horizons,” UbuntuNet-Connect 2026 will provide a platform for sharing knowledge, showcasing innovative solutions and strengthening collaboration across the research and education community.
The programme will feature engaging presentations and discussions covering artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, research and education network infrastructure, open science, diversity and inclusion, innovation, partnerships and service evolution.
This year’s conference will also mark a significant milestone as UbuntuNet Alliance celebrates its 20th anniversary. Delegates will have an opportunity to reflect on two decades of advancing research and education networking while exploring the technologies, partnerships and ideas that will shape the future.

- Participants from African institutions: USD 200
- Participants from the rest of the world: USD 300

Complete Your Registration
Participants can pay their registration fees online or by bank transfer. Registration is only considered complete once the applicable fee has been paid and proof of payment has been shared with info@ubuntunet.net or finance@ubuntunet.net.
Submitting the online registration form or receiving an invitation letter does not constitute completed registration. Participants are therefore encouraged to complete both the registration and payment processes before the deadline.
