The GÉANT Emerging NREN Programme (ENP) is back, offering an incredible opportunity for professionals from emerging National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) to engage with the global research and education networking community. ENP25 will take place from 9-13 June 2025, alongside TNC25 in Brighton, UK,

Since its launch in 2018, the ENP has welcomed 74 participants from 44 countries, fostering meaningful collaborations between emerging NRENs and the broader TNC community. This programme is designed to provide unparalleled networking, learning, and collaboration opportunities, creating synergies between European and international NRENs at various levels.

What ENP25 Offers

  • Full Access to TNC25: Participants will attend the flagship TNC conference, with registration fees waived by the organisers.
  • Tailored ENP Programme: A series of dedicated sessions will be coordinated with the conference’s local NREN host to ensure meaningful engagement.
  • Presentation Opportunities: ENP participants are encouraged to submit Lightning Talks or Special Interest Group (SIG) proposals, showcasing their innovative work to a global audience.

Previous participants have delivered impactful presentations on topics like:

  • Digital Crop-Disease Surveillance in Sub-Saharan Africa
  • IoT-Based Criminal Recognition in West Africa
  • Student Information Systems in Madagascar

Selected Lightning Talk speakers will receive support from GÉANT to enhance their presentations.

How to Apply

There are two selection tracks for applicants:

  • Regional REN Selection: Up to three candidates will be nominated by their respective Regional Research and Education Networks (RRENs) in collaboration with local NRENs.
  • GÉANT Women in STEM Selection: A dedicated track to encourage more women in STEM to participate.

Applicants must submit:

  • A CV in English
  • A completed ENP25 application form
  • Additional requirements may be specified by regional RENs (e.g., mandatory Lightning Talk submission).

Participant Sponsorship

  • Travel, accommodation, and other expenses will be covered by EU-funded projects, regional RENs, or other locally arranged sponsorships.
  • TNC25 registration fees will be waived for all selected participants.
