Join Our September Open Science Webinars on Peer Review and Preprints

We are pleased to invite you to our two upcoming open science webinars this September, each offering unique insights into the world of open science and preprint sharing. These webinars are part of the AfricArXiv webinar series webinar series which is co-organized by UbuntuNet Alliance (https://ubuntunet.net/) and Access 2 Perspectives (https://access2perspectives.org/) as part of the ORCID Global Participation Program (https://https://info.orcid.org/global-participation-program/.in/dEYGsMUq). 

Our goal is to bring cutting-edge topics in research and education to a broader audience, fostering collaboration and innovation across the scientific community. Since the start of the series, we have held 17 webinars tackling a diverse array of issues in open science which you can access here. In September, the series continues with the following webinars:

Webinar 1: Open Peer Review, Collaborative Preprint Review, and Opportunities to Learn and Teach Others

In this session, Vanessa Fairhurst and Chad Sansing from PREreview will explore the benefits of open peer review and collaborative preprint evaluation. They will explore how these practices enhance transparency and inclusivity in the peer review process. Additionally, members of the 2024 PREreview Champions Program will share their experiences, particularly within the African research context, highlighting the positive impact of collaborative review processes on scientific research and education.

Webinar 2: Advocating for Preprint Sharing in Rwanda

Join Roseline Dzekem Dine and her colleagues from the Rwanda Preprint Club as they discuss the importance of preprint sharing in Rwanda.
