The Kyambogo University of Uganda, a member institution of the National Research and Education Network for Uganda (RENU) is showing what research and educations institutions in Africa can benefit from research and education networks.
Using the high speed and dedicated Internet connectivity from RENU which connects to the regional UbuntuNet Network build with assistance from the European Union Co-funded Africa-Connect project, students at the University developed a software that optimized administrative process at the institution. The software has since been adapted by several academic and non- academic institutions in Uganda after the pioneering students formed a company which has been distributing the software to these institutions.
