The Research and Education Network of Uganda (RENU) to host UbuntuNet-Connect 2016
Lilongwe, 30th March, 2016:
UbuntuNet Alliance for Research and Education Networking is pleased to announce that UbuntuNet-Connect 2016, the ninth edition of its series of annual conferences focusing on research and education networking activities taking place in Africa, will be held on 3-4 November 2016 in Entebbe, Uganda and will be hosted by the Research and Education Network of Uganda (RENU).
The conference, which will be held under the theme ” Optimising the Impact of NRENs on Africa’s Research” will be preceded by a number of pre-conference event that will be announced soon.
The Research and Education Network of Uganda ( RENU) first hosted the conference in 2009 and UbuntuNet Alliance CEO Dr. Pascal Hoba says the return of the conference to Uganda will present participants and organisations an opportunity to measure the progress that RENU, which is one of the vibrant members of the Alliance, has achieved since its establishment in 2006.

It is the wish of the Alliance to see emerging NRENs hosting UbuntuNet-Connect but RENU has been chosen due to the advancements it is making as an NREN. The success of RENU will be a big motivatition to representatives of our NREN members that will be in Uganda.
